About me
Martin Mulligan is a writer, educator, and cultural researcher based in Kansas City. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where his research centered on Mexican Regional Music and the ways in which corridos reflect the complex intersections of violence and identity in contemporary Mexico. He currently teaches Spanish and Latin American literature at Guadalupe Centers High School. Under the pen name Emila Persola, he also engages in creative writing and digital storytelling, blending academic insight with artistic expression across poetry, social media, and fiction.

Martin Mulligan es escritor, docente e investigador cultural radicado en Kansas City. Obtuvo su doctorado en la Universidad de Missouri-Columbia, donde se especializó en la Música Regional Mexicana y en cómo el corrido refleja las complejas realidades de la violencia y la identidad en el México contemporáneo. Actualmente enseña español y literatura hispanoamericana en la preparatoria Guadalupe Centers. Bajo el seudónimo de Emila Persola, también desarrolla proyectos de escritura creativa y narrativas digitales, en poesía, ficción y No-ficción.
